Lone Star Geyser

I didn’t see this one blow, Giles did and he said it was the best… Couldn’t be bothered to wait 3 hours for it to go again though.

First Geyser

It’s not a huge one, but it’s the first time I’ve ever seen boiling hot water being ejected from the Earth and I’m impressed.

Tricky Crossing

What made it harder was that we didn’t even have to cross it… Once we realised we had to jump back over, which was a bit more tricky than this way round!

Branston Pickle

It’s no homemade chutney, but sure hit the spot this lunchtime. Interesting that the supermarket in Jackson Hole had an ‘English’ section, you could get salad cream, yorkies and all sorts :) sadly no British booze though, we were on the bud:

Back in Yellowstone

Well we got to the end of the Tetons with dad and Giles, they’re having a look round yellowstone canyon while me and Paul nail some more miles along the CDT. We’ll be meeting them again at Old Faithfull.

Burkes Chop House

36oz steak, yum yum

Well we made it Jackson Hole with my dad and brother, they did 10 days hiking without a rest. To celebrate we went out for a steak obviously, largest they had on the menu was the 36oz Porterhouse. Pretty damn fine piece of meat, one of the best, certainly one of the biggest! Rest of the meal let it down though, wine was rubbish and they kept bringing us the wrong ones (got a free one out of them in the end though) and the apple pie was a bit average. But a good time was had by all, I even feel a tad hungover today.

Pretty much running

Running down Granite Canyon

Me & Paul left dad and Giles at breakfast and nailed it down Granite Canyon to Teton Village. We were practically running all the way, we wanted to see how many pints we could get in before they both turned up, the answer was 5!
