cartoon frenchman stereotype

Client: Personal

Ihad plans to start illustrating various national stereotypes, so far I’ve only got as far as No.1 the French… Someday I’ll get more done! The quote is from the French soldier defending his castle in Monty Phyon’s Holy Grail.

Spot the Bull

Client: Orange | Agency: Poke | URL: Archived version

Basically there’s a Bull called Derek in a field, at a secret location in England with a GPS device strapped to it. Every day for a month if players can guess exactly where Derek will be in his field at 3pm then they can win much sought after tickets to Glastonbury.

Spot the Bull did so well that we’re launching version 2 shortly (not designed by me next time round).

David Gest Blog

Client: ITV | Agency: Poke | URL: www.davidgest.tv

This is the blog I designed for David Gest when he had a reality show on ITV. It’s totally bonkers, just like the man himself. Must of got it just right because David loved it so much that he had the cover of his Autobiography re-designed to look just like it :)

woodpecker free sim ad concept

Client: Orange | Agency: Poke

Ah spring is in the air, and the woodpeckers are out - are they? Not sure if I’ve ever seen a woodpecker, but that was the concept I art worked up in this free SIM give away type ad for Orange. I suppose I should really show the finished flash ads, but I don’t really get involved in the ad production so don’t have any of the files.

Lucky Charms ad concept for Orange

Client: Orange | Agency: Poke

Idon’t know really why I’m showing this, the ad never got made, think it’s just because I liked the little Leprecorn character! I think quite often some of my favourite work is the stuff that never gets built… suppose it’s the stuff that the project managers & clients haven’t had chance to ruin yet ;P

Johnny Foreigner

Client: ITV | Agency: Poke

These are a series of spoof newspaper cartoon strips. I made them to promote the ITV show Benedorm. I also made them into a series of online ads which the client said had the highest click through rate they’d ever seen.

Malice Box

Client: Penguin | Agency: Poke | URL: www.maliceboxquest.com

This was a site for the publisher Penguin, to promote a new book called The Malice Box. The book is a bit like the Da Vinci Code - a dude runs about the place, solving puzzles and saving the world. In the book he has a GPS device called ‘The Quad’ to help him get around. For the online game we created, you get to navigate the globe using google maps. Basically you solve puzzles, guess locations of ‘Red Gold’ on the map and win prizes.

mobmates website for kids

Client: Orange | Agency: Poke | URL: www.mobmates.co.uk

Mob Mates is a Pay as go tariff for kids from Orange. This could of been so much better than it was, not because of the design I might add! Because Orange screwed up the tariff, when we initially did the focus groups the tariff was simply - All calls and texts 2p. The kids loved it and I thought it was going to a real big deal. Sadly Orange slowly started shoehorning more and more hidden conditions in as we were going along… Have to top up by at least £15 a month, only works between other Mob Mates… In the end the kids felt they were being shafted by the small print and not getting what they signed up for, and rightly so! Shame, shame, I worked on this project for ever too :(

I just did the design, Mysterious Al did all the characters and Knotty did all the development.
