Gravatar icons

Inoticed after upgrading my blog to Wordpress 2.5 (I’d recommend it, looks much better!) that some people in my comments admin area had little icons next to them. Where are these icons coming from I wondered and I want one too! Turns out they’re called Gravatars, or globally recognized avatar, it’s simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you leave a comment. It’s your email that identifies you, and you can set up multiple avatars for your different email accounts.

It’s a great idea, I’d recommend setting your own up, unless you like being Bingo from Banana Splits reading a Playboy mag, which is my default avatar for you ;)

super pii pii the Wii penis controller

Astrap on cock controller for the Nintendo Wii? Apparently Super Pii Pii is actually just an April fools joke by ThinkGeek, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already coming off the production line of a Chinese factory, as Dave our IT man put:

“It’s brimming with potential, I can see the next Grand Theft Auto where you have to cruise the streets for ass seeing how many hoe’s you can knock up, it could also have a virtual reality mask and the pants could incorporate a jar of giblets for added realism, no?”

Ilove the fact that people won’t let the tape format die :) Anyhow, take a trip down memory lane and make you’re own mixtape again with Mixwit.

Cheers for the link Nicky.

We Tell stories map and story overlay

This is quite interesting, Penguin have just launched We Tell Stories. 6 different Authors have written 6 new stories inspired by 6 penguin classics which you read online. First up this week is The 21 Steps by Charles Cummings, inspired by The 39 Steps by John Buchan. Each week there’s a new story released. The interesting bit for is how the stories are told. They’re overlaid on Google Maps, as the story develops you can see the route the character is taking around London.

are you british in bed quiz for K-Y Jelly

Asite I designed and illustrated a while ago has just launched today, it’s the Are you British in Bed Quiz or K-Y Jelly ;)

They’ve got a new product out in the UK called Touch Massage, or how we had to refer to it endlessly in the site - K-Y® brand TOUCH MASSAGE® 2-in-1 Tingling or Warming… that rolls off the tongue nicely doesn’t it! Anyhow it’s a combination of pussy rub and massage oil, to get you all sexed up in the bedroom.

We basically built a sex quiz located in a passport control booth (I didn’t think of the idea!). It’s pretty well done if I don’t say so myself, Dezza & Russ did the flash development, Mattias did the HTML and FaceBook application. So on give it a go, it is actually pretty funny.

If you just want to get your hands on the lube, it’s available from Boots here »

seyour powell product design

Product design agency SeymourPowell have a new site. I don’t usually like flash sites, but this is quite sweet. Fast loading, not too flashy, well structured & easy to get around. Also the SeymourPowell in seven clicks stack of cards intro thing is a nice touch.

Cheers for the link Dom.

History of Adidas

Nice stop motion History of Adidas animation, rest of the site is a bit ‘light’ though. No mention of the other brother that set up Puma, I like that story.

computer generated boobies

It’s childish I know, but you gotta laugh at the bounce-o-meter animations for this shock absorber bra thing. Obviously you’ll be wanting to select maximum cup size and the most vigorous workout ;)

I came across the Japanese interactive outfit ‘tha‘ today while looking for who’d made the amazing FFFFOUND website which I’ve been browsing endlessly recently. Turns out they’ve done quite a bit of stuff I’ve seen before, such as the Uniqlo site (mosaic tile browser). The colourfull site of art director Kashiwa Sato, and from years back that amaztype thing for searching amazon.

The also have some really nice work that I haven’t seen before though, such as the Honda Sweet Mission - it’s like like an audio blogging platform.

Though to be honest though after having a good though their portfolio I was suffering a lot from ‘flash fatigue’

Just gone live today is Poke’s latest site for Orange - Good Things Should Never End. It’s part of their unlimited campaign and the idea is that it’s an unlimited webpage that never ends! (Apparently Dezza informs me that you can get to the end, but it’s so bloody long that you’d be mad to try) What do you put in a webpage that never ends? Well a funny little world where things cycle, repeat and loop endlessly like the elephants above. You can also add to a never ending doodle, play with musical chickens, breed a mutant alien race, talk to robots, make ice-cream, watch monkey’s breakdance, go fishing, read a moustachioed man’s mind and things of that nature.

There’s shit loads of people who worked on it in the office, but off the top of my head - Knotty & Dezza coded it, My lovely Nicky drew all the rainbows :) Rex drew and animated all the characters (quite a few of which sport moustaches) and many many more…

Slice of Scott Hansen's cover for the OFFF catalogue

Sublime colours and pattern on Scott Hansen’s cover for the NYC OFFF festival catalogue. He’ll be hosting a workshop at the event deconstructing his process and technique, man I’d die to go to that if I was in New York. Check out his portfolio ISO50 for bucket loads of jaw dropping visuals.

Sketchcast is a little flash doodle app that also lets you record voice notes over the top then post to your blog. Not quite Cock-a-doodle, but pretty handy. I’m sure they’ll be some pretty funny stuff done with it soon enough, lets you record loads of pen strokes. Note - You can scrub the scroll bar to speed up the drawing, it is a bit show at normal speed when there isn’t voice over the top.

Check out my Sketchcast channel.
