Back in 2000 when we left university, Cookie & Paul made a pact to walk the Continental Divide Trail in 2008. The Continental Divide Trail is 3000 mile walk from Mexico to Canada following the Rocky mountains which forms the east to west watershed of the United States, it’ll take about 6 months to complete… The reason we choose it was purely because it was the longest walk we could find any information on, the reason we picked 2008 was because we had no money and thought by now we’d have all our student debt paid off!
Below is an overview of our route (click for larger map):
Progress:
We started the walk on the 1st May 2008. You can see how far we’ve got and what it’s been like by visiting - Where are Cookie & Paul?
Why?
We are doing this to raise funds for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust as we both have friends that suffer from this currently incurable disease. The money raised will help fund research to find a cure for the most common life-threatening inherited disease. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and you can sponsor us securely here if you wish.
But: I think it’s much more sporting to sponsor us by the mile :) There’s no guarantee that we’ll make it to the end, so remember it might not cost you as much as you think! If you want to sponsor us this way leave a comment with your Pence per Mile Pledge in this blog post and I’ll chase you up when I get back!

Are you going to walk all this way?
I went for a 14 days walk from Oslo to Bergen (Norway) thats something like 400km. It took 14 days and i lost 15 kg. Went down from 90 to 75. Watch out, your legs/feet are going to get messy..
