leather shoes

I came across this photo of these leather shoes today. I quite like them and was wondering if anyone knew what they were or where I could get them?

Recycled Fluorescent Tube Light

I really like this, a light shade made from a load of old fluorescent tubes, beautiful. Made by Castor Canadensis a Canadian interdisciplinary design outfit.

Examples of the photographic work of Greg Reed, bright colours, graphic composition, fun fairs

Across my desk at work is Greg, we pump out hot air from the backs of our G5 towers towards each other all day. Only recently I’ve discovered how good and daring a photographer he is (he’s a web developer during the day). Check out his Flickr account for lots of saturated colour, graphical compositions and fun fair fun.

Next week (2-9th December) he’s having an exhibition at Gallery 5 in west London, I can’t wait, see the NottingStill website for more info.

Pledge Handmade this Christmas

I’m all for handmade presents, all mine generally are made by me. There’s definitely been a bit of an explosion in people selling handmade stuff recently, probably spearheaded by the community at Etsy. I think it’s great and should be encouraged, so now you can pledge to buy handmade this Christmas.

Go on, you know it’ll make the world a slightly better and more interesting place. Better still just make your own, they don’t have to be perfect, it’s often the imperfections that make them so great.

sample of fertigo font

Exljbris is the library of Jos Buivenga’s free fonts. They are a lot better than the usual free font tosh, I particularly like Fertigo.

a selection of animation background paintings

I’m in awe of the craftsmanship of animation background artists. Animation Backgrounds is a blog devoted to that art and I can’t get enough of it.

A screengrab of my technorati RankingI started this blog a little over a year ago, here’s my first post. At the time I didn’t really know what to expect, but the newly launched Technorati had this little graph (which seems to of disappeared now), it was blank for me - said it “only tracked the top 100,000 blogs”. So at the time I thought, that’s what I want to achieve, get into the top 100,000 blogs so that I get a little graph!

Well the graph feature might of gone, but today I noticed that I’ve finally made it into the top 100,000. I’m chuffed to bits and just want to thank everyone for popping in over the past year and I suppose more importantly for those folk who’ve linked me up (I think that’s how Technorati do their rankings?).

I find looking at my blog statistics endlessly fascinating, I’ve had a big increase in visitors over the past month or two (I’m on about 750 uniques a day at the moment) although most of them seem to after either my inflatable bikini or anal sex t-shirt post…

ninjas and moustachios are friends sticker

Ninjas & Moustachios are friends, I’d agree with that, and now for only $1 I could promote that belief with this vinyl sticker from Shawnimals.

stripey deck chair fabric

Probably the wrong time of the year to post this, but I’m quite excited about finding a shop that specialises in stripey deckchair fabric.
