World’s Greatest Music Collection

The World's Greatest Music Collection

Holey moley, the largest collection of recorded music in the world is on ebay! The estimated value is more than $50 million, be interesting to see how much it gets. With a starting bid of $3,000,000 there’s no bids so far, but it says it’s the most watch listing on ebay ever.

“It’s the undisputed largest collection of recorded music in the world. About half of the recordings are new and never played, and every genre of 20th century music is represented.”

It ends at 2pm on Thursday 21st Feb.

Update: Sold for £1,547,101.26 – seems pretty cheap to me, luck bidder!

Early Designs

Early Designs stencil graphic

Here’s a little group blogging thing that looks to be quite interesting. Andy Whitlock wants us all to show some examples of our early work and talk about how it compares to the work we’re producing now.

“Early Designs is an open project where (hopefully) hundreds of designers, artists and illustrators from across the world will – on the same day – upload pieces and sketches from their college years.”

That day will be March 26th, so there’s still plenty of time to blow the dust off some of your old work and get involved. Andy’s made a pdf with more info here »

Continental Divide Maps

Continental divide maps, beware quicksand!

I‘ve just recieved all the maps we need for our imminent hike along the Continental Divide, created by Jonathan Ley, they are better than I expected. Each map (and there’s hundreds of them) has the route and variations drawn on, and is full of notes about the route, places to get water, hot springs and all sorts. This one above just caught my eye though:

Quicksand somewhere on this map, I won’t say where exactly, because that kind of thing is a lot more exciting to dicover by accident. Ahhhh! Quicksand!!!

Can’t wait, I always wondered what it would be like to be stuck in quicksand :) Cheers for the maps Jonathan, they’re amazing!
