The Free Stuff! Flickr Pool
I‘m all for stuff like this – The Free Stuff! Flickr Pool, take a picture of something to want to get rid of, post it to the pool, if someone wants it they get in touch, pay for the postage and off it goes to a new home. Same as freecycle I suppose, but this is much more fun to browse. Sadly the Smurfs glasses have already gone god damn it :(
Rubbery Fat Bean Type Men
Don’t know much about these sculptures above other than they’re made by Hans Hemmert and he’s into rubbery things. I do know that I want them though, the proportions are great! Check out the video of them jumping about here. Seems to be part of a public art space group called Inges Idee.

Lori Nix
Lori Nix is a Brooklyn based photographer who shoots big epic scenes of destruction and grandeur in tiny model diorama format. I love the pure amount of effort and work that has gone into building these little scenes just to get that one shot, wonder what she does with the models afterwards?
There’s an interview with her on Cool Hunting, where she explains her craft, also she has a book, Small Dangers.

Textures
I was quite upset last week when I realised that the Mayang directory of free textures doesn’t seem to exist anymore :( There’s quite a good pool on flickr of textures here. Does anyone know of any other good source of textures? Now that everyone is sick to their back teeth of shiney web 2.0 looky feely, think textures are going to have their day again :)
John Muir Trail 2007
My mate Paul has been busy finally uploading his photos of our previous walking holidays to his Flickr. Above is us climbing Mt. Whitney at god-knows-o’clock in the morning, to get to the summit for sunrise. Whitney is the highest point in the contiguous United States at 4,421 meters. It’s taken from a trip we did to California last year to walk the John Muir Trail.

Looks like he’s started uploading the Norway 2005 trip as well, but hasn’t organised them into sets yet. Blighmy that one was cold… and as you can see from the image above, the visibility wasn’t always that great!
