I‘ve stayed at a few campsites over the years, but this one in Joshua Tree National Park stands out as probably the best. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit, they’re all really private. The best thing though is that they’re all nestled around these huge stone slabs that are beautiful and amazing fun for scrambling and bouldering. I loved it as an adult, if I was still a kid I would of gone completely nuts!

Mount Ryan
First mountain we’ve got to the top of! Stunning views across Joshua Tree National Park from here :)

Margarita #2
San Jacinto Peak
The plan today was to climb San Jacinto Peak 10,804ft, second highest in southern California. Hell of a lot of snow still up there though, lost the trail and got lost a couple of miles before the summit and had to turn back… Still, not a bad outing for Nicky’s first experience of walking, she did very well!
Palm Springs
We’re staying at an amazing 50’s hotel called The Hideaway, doesn’t seem to be any guests other than me and Nicky, got this whole garden to ourselves :) It’s hot as hell on the valley floor, margaritas are keeping us cool though.

Rocky Mountains from the plane
Not exactly sure where this is, think it might be in between Colorado & Wyoming? But looks like there’s plenty of snow on them :)
