Interesting photos of The World’s First Nuclear Power Plant, built in Russia, 1954. I’m a sucker for big industrial dials, switches, gauges and such like, this thing has a fair few. Not sure what that circular thing with the grid pattern is, but it looks pretty cool.

Great stuff. I’m the least engineering-minded bloke in the world,, but I love these old skool switches and gauges and stuff. These pics remind of the shots of NASA’s mission control in the 60s, with everyone sitting round smoking and looking stressed. Excellent
I’ve seen similar circular gauges at a water treatment plant. The circular gauge probably monitors flow of some sort. The one I saw would monitor water flow for an entire week.
