Bathtime

Isure needed this, 5 days without a shower, I was starting to get a tad stinky. We’re so surprised though that we can still get a pleasant wash at lunchtime and dry off in the baking sun at the back end of September.

Scapegoat Wilderness

To tell you the truth, I’m not exactly sure where we are at the moment (maybe shouldn’t of burned our guide book to save on weight) but I reckon we must be in Scapegoat by now. Anyhow it looks pretty wild.

Campfire Cooking

We’re running a bit low on fuel for our stove, so have started boiling up our water for coffees on the embers of the fire. Feels good to be using the fire for something other than our evening TV :)

Heading towards Caribou Peak

It’s that pointy one in the distance, we didn’t climb it, had to head down to an unnamed lake to get some water. It was almost dried up, the water was perhaps suspect, but we boiled it up and were happy to have it at last.

A lot of climbing today

This is the top of an unnamed peak, god knows how many we’ve climbed today, I’ve lost count! Up and down the ridge all day, bloody knackering! We only managed to do 17.5 miles, which is a bit work shy for us, but we were done in by the end…

Lewis and Clark Pass

Good old Lewis & Clark certainly left a lasting legacy in this part of the world, you can’t move for bumping into plaques about they’re exploits! Anyhow, they passed by here 200 years ago, presumably nothing else of note has happened here since ;)
