Holidays in the Mountains

While putting together a post about my walking holiday this year, my mind drifted back to previous trips, so I’ve compiled a list of previous holidays in the mountains:

• 1988 – Summer, GR54 the Tour de l’Oisans in the French Alps. Tour du Mont Blanc. With family.
• 1989 – Summer, 2 x 2 week walks of my Dad’s design in the Pyrenees, France & Spain. Climbed Aneto (3,404m highest yet) With family.
• 1990 – Spring, Sierra Nevada in Spain. Climbed Mulhacén (3,479m highest yet). Summer, GR20 in Corsica. With family.
• 1991 – Spring, Crete the White Mountains. Summer, 2 weeks walking in the French Alps. With family.
• 1992 – Spring, levada walk in Maderia. Summer, 2 weeks walking in the Pyrenees, Spain. Winter, Skiing in Alpe D’Huez, France. With family.
• 1993 – Spring, walk in Tenerife. Summer, The High Atlas traverse, Morocco. Climbed Jbel Toubkal, highest mountains in Morocco (4,167m highest yet). Winter, Skiing in Risoul, France. With family.
• 1994 – Spring, walking in Majorca. Winter, skiing in Val Thorens, France. With family.
• 1995 – Summer, tour of the Queyras, France. With family.
• 1996 – Summer, playing around with Via ferrata in the Dolomites, Italy & the Stubai, Austria. Winter, skiing in Courcheval, France. With family.
• 1997 – Summer, Stubai hut to hut glacier walk, Austria. The Grand Tour of Monte Rosa part 1, Swiss and Italian Alps. Climbed Mont Blanc (4,808m highest yet). With family.
• 1998 – Summer, walking in Austria and Switzerland. Climbed Pic Polensa, most impressive climb to date. With family.
• 1999 – Summer, walking in the Alsace, France & Switzerland. With family.
• 2000 – Summer, walked part of the GR5, France. With Clare.
• 2001 – Summer, the Grand Tour of Monte Rosa part 2, Swiss and Italian Alps. With Clare.
• 2002 – Winter, skiing in St. Anton, Austria.
• 2003 – Summer, walked 3 weeks of the Pyrenees High Route. With Giles, Paul and Greeny.
• 2004 – Summer, the High Route from Chamonix in France to Zermatt in Switzerland. With Giles, Paul, Greeny and Hedgy.
• 2005 – Spring, tour and climb of Mount Kenya in Kenya (4,985m highest to date). With Paul, Rob, Daisy, Bec, Anna, Olly. Summer, tour of the Jotunheimen in Norway, our own random route for 2 weeks. With Giles, Paul and Greeny.
• 2006 – Summer, the GR20 in Corsica. With Giles, Paul, Greeny, Deano and Noel.
• 2007 planned – Summer, John Muir Trail mixed with bits of the Sierra High Route devised by Steve Roper, in the USA. With Giles, Paul and Carl.
