Well we’ve made it across our first state :) Goodbye New Mexico and hello Colorado! Feels pretty good to cross a border and know that you’re a quarter of the way across America.
And what a welcome. Shortly after leaving Cumbres Pass we hit some high mountains and a tonne of snow. Because almost all of our walking in Colorado is above 10,000 feet the climbs are extra tough but once you get to the top the views make it all worth while. We drop our packs take in a big lung full of the thin air and sit back for a few moments and smile as we take in the 360 panorama. This is what it’s all about! Paul
