The campaign site for Robinsons Squash – Return to Tastebuddyland caught my eye while looking through B-Reel’s portfolio of work. Love the uber-rich photograhy mixed with the colourful illustrations. The characters were designed by Aardman Animations, but not quite as nice as Adrian Johnson’s original work on the campaign, although they have kept his type treatment which was a good move. I admit, probably more suited to the young age of the target audience though.

Wavish Industries
I‘ve just spent most of my morning trawling through the back catalogue of posts on the blog Wavish Industries, written by Nick Wavish an Interactive Director at Unit 9. Couldn’t help myself cherry picking some of my favourites to post here. Above is the hilarious Message from Batman, this clever Mario ad, the well spotted volume dial up to 11 on BBC iPlayer, Wallace & Gromit start male modeling, the awesome typograhic work of Craig Ward and this clever google images game. Anyhow, added to my list of blogs I regularly read :)
Olly Moss
There’s an interesting mixture of nicely designed posters, infographics and t-shirts over in Olly Moss’s portfolio.

Permanent Press
It’s been a long while since I’ve ever really used the filter menu in Photoshop, but it seems they’ve come a long way since the old flaming text effect ;) Came across the Permanent Press filter from Mister Retro, and I must say I’m pretty impressed. Turn your shiney crisp computer generated graphics into vintage offset prints full of character and soul. There’s a load of presets, above is a couple of examples, but you can tweek and adjust just about everything. Costs $99.
Printable Paper
Here’s a handy site – Printable Paper has a job lot of paper templates like graph paper, isometric grids and all sorts of officey forms and stationary. Quite useful just for background textures and such like.

Milkman Packaging
Out of all the stuff we bought today Milkman dried milk was by far the best packaging. Ok so the design is a bit ropey and the girls hair is cut out really bad and all pixelated, but I love the illustration, so much better than a photo. Haven’t tried the milk yet though.
Made by Nico
You might of noticed I’ve been updating a few things round here, well I think I’ve finally got my blog looking and working just as I like it now. Still got a loads of work to add to the portfolio, will be adding new/old stuff each evening. Apologies to folk who subscribe to my RSS, I think my post dating of old work might be a bit annoying…
Anyhow, just wanted to give a big thank you to Nico Nuzzaci who built it for me. He’s made it super easy for me to update, it’s just the same as posting normal blog entries but to special hidden categories. I’m loving it :) The multi talented Nico not only designs and develops at Poke, but he’s also lead guitar in CRANK, rock on!
Also a pre-emptive nod to Knotty who’s trying to figure out how to get my Google maps widget working for our Continental Divide Trail walk shortly.

Moov – It’s like lifesize Lego!
Kids have it so good these days, these Moov – Technic Lego like ridable kids toys are awesome! I’d be trying to get my Mum & Dad to buy me about 10 kits to make some sort of massive monster truck. Reckon this is going to create a load of future transportation designers.
Watch a video of them here.

Undo, motion spot by Impactist
I‘m hopeless at anagrams and even though there’s graphical clues in this motion graphic piece, I can’t decipher these book titles. If you’re able to without looking at the clues, I take my hat off to you.
But the wooden penguin-esque 3D book covers are simply amazing. While you’re there, check out Low Fidelity Car Dream, awesome.
